Our Method

Learning Step by Step

The world renowned Arthur Murray Method began in 1914, when Arthur Murray himself was a leading dance instructor. In the 1950s, Arthur and his wife Kathryn starred in their own television series, “The Arthur Murray Dance Party” that ran for over a decade on national television. That’s how we got our start!

A world of dance!

Singles and Couples Dance lessons Toronto1

All Arthur Murray studios across the globe operate on the same system. This means that wherever you travel you can transfer lessons and pick up where you left off. You can trust that you will be in the hands of amazing teachers and a consistent method wherever you are. With Arthur Murray, dance can always be part of your life, wherever your travels take you.

Our method is unique, insightful, and thoroughly enjoyable. It’s based on close observation of how people learn best, and perfected over 100 years. Specifically developed for beginners and people with limited dancing experience, the Arthur Murray Method guarantees that you will be able to get up and dance easily.

Building Blocks

Our approach to learning is based on simple walking steps and side steps – they’ll be the first thing that you learn at our studio. Once these are in place, everything else comes remarkably easily; you’ll soon see that these simple steps are used in every dance. You will learn other dances by combining a few different basic steps in different combinations and with different rhythms.
